The Orion Series packed bed scrubber is among the most utilized air pollution control abatement technology, based upon its versatility with a vast array of contaminant removal, processes, and industries served. The Orion Series packed bed scrubber can be in a horizontal or vertical configuration to accommodate footprint or height restrictions.

 
Inlet air enters the packed bed scrubber through the inlet, where the gas stream is introduced to the scrubber liquid and packing media. The scrubber media uses a means of mass transfer and liquid holdup to absorb the contaminates into the scrubber liquid. The fouled scrubber liquid is either discharged to wastewater or continuously adjusted to allow for continuous duty operation. After the contaminates are absorbed into the scrubber liquid, the moist air is then directed through a mist eliminator to remove the droplets within the airstream, then the treated air is discharged to atmosphere.
