Safe-Cell II EtO Dry Scrubber
The SafeCell II™ dry scrubber uses a dual “bunk-bed” downflow design, with two media beds stacked vertically inside a compact 304 stainless steel frame. This configuration minimizes footprint while keeping the overall height below 7 feet. Models DR490B-8 and DR490C-8 include an 8″ deep bed of proprietary epoxide-reactive media in each chamber, with the DR490C-8 designed for installations requiring seismic compliance.
Air containing Ethylene Oxide (EO) or Propylene Oxide (PO) passes through the dry media beds, where the contaminants undergo a patented chemisorption reaction. The EO or PO molecules diffuse out of the airstream and permanently bond to the surface of the tiny resin beads, forming a stable polymer on the media. The purified air is then exhausted from the unit.
Media replacement is required once the removal efficiency decreases to the permitted limit (typically when media loading reaches its EO/PO capacity). Replacement is simple and ensures continued performance.

Every SafeCell II scrubber system is engineered and built to meet specific customer requirements. Systems can treat up to 2000 scfm per unit, with larger flows achieved by operating multiple units in parallel.
